Robbers are a unique PvE feature in Travian Kingdoms. They appear regularly throughout the game world and offer opportunities to earn resources, Hero experience, and other rewards.
There are two types of Robbers: Robber Hideouts and Robber Camps. While both involve fighting NPC enemies, they serve different purposes and use different mechanics.
Robber Hideouts are personal encounters that appear near your capital village. They are only visible to you and can be cleared by defeating the defending robbers and plundering their resources.
During the early stages of a game world, your Hero is often strong enough to clear the first Hideouts alone. As Hideouts become stronger later in the game, supporting your Hero with troops and using siege attacks can help reduce losses.

Robber Camps are cooperative kingdom activities. Eligible kingdom members work together by contributing troops to defeat the camp and unlock rewards. Unlike Hideouts, Camps are shared objectives that encourage coordination between players.

Although both involve your Hero, Robbers and Hero Adventures are different game mechanics.
Hero Adventures are solo missions. Your Hero always travels alone and returns with Hero experience and, in most cases, a reward. To start an Adventure, open the Hero window and select the Adventures tab, or click the Adventure icon next to your Hero's portrait.
Robber Hideouts and Robber Camps take place on the world map. Unlike Adventures, they are combat-based activities. Your Hero can fight alongside your troops when attacking Robber Hideouts, while Robber Camps require troop contributions from kingdom members to earn rewards.
