Tribe-specific: Gauls only. The Trapper protects your village with well-hidden traps. Unwary enemies can be captured in this way and will not be able to harm your village any more. The Trapper can only be built in Gaul villages and is not limited to the capital. Once a Trapper reaches level 20, additional Trappers can be built in the same village. Requirements: Rally Point Level 1 | ![]() |
When enemy troops arrive at a village with available traps, some of them can be captured before the remaining troops fight.
For example, if 100 troops arrive on a Raid and 40 are captured, the remaining 60 troops continue with the Raid and fight normally.
Captured troops remain imprisoned and continue to consume crop from their home village.
The defender can release trapped troops voluntarily. In this case, the traps are automatically repaired at no resource cost and with half the usual building time.
The attacker or a member of their Kingdom can also free the trapped troops, but this requires a successful Attack. A Raid cannot free trapped troops.
When trapped troops are freed by an Attack, 25% of the prisoners die.
State | What it means |
Free | The trap is intact and immediately ready to capture a troop. |
Used | The trap currently holds a trapped troop. |
Buildable | The trap must be rebuilt, which costs resources and takes time. |
Auto-repair | The trap is repaired automatically at no resource cost and with half the usual building time. |
Action | What happens to the traps |
Defender releases the trapped troops | Traps enter Auto-repair. |
Trapper is demolished or downgraded | Free and Buildable traps disappear. Trapped troops remain imprisoned. |
Village is conquered by a Gaul | Traps become Free. |
Attacker disbands the trapped troops | Traps become Free. |
Attacker frees the trapped troops | Traps become Buildable. |
Trapped troops starve | Traps become Buildable. |
Attacker's avatar is deleted | Traps become Free. |
Trapped troops are deleted as a punishment | Traps become Free. |
If a Gaul village with a Trapper is conquered by another Gaul, the Trapper remains and the traps become Free. If it is conquered by a non-Gaul, the Trapper and all traps are removed.
Trapped troops are not released when the defender enters vacation mode.
While the defender is in vacation mode, the troops also cannot be freed by attacking the village.
Each Trapper level increases the number of traps you can build. The game world speed directly multiplies the number of available traps.
