Hero Equipment - Overview

Your hero’s equipment is a powerful way to gain advantages over opponents.

Equipment can be found during adventures or purchased from the Auction House if they are available.

This guide explains how equipment works, when bonuses apply, and what you should know about tiers, variants, and upgrades.

Changing equipment

  • You can change your hero’s equipment at any time.

  • Exception: Items that influence travel speed can only be changed if your hero is not traveling.

Item categories

Equipment is grouped into six categories, plus consumables.

How item effects work

Equipment only takes effect when the hero is alive.

  • Hero & troop effects: Work only for the hero or for troops fighting together with the hero.

  • Weapon bonuses:

    • Attack: Weapon bonuses apply to all matching units that travel with the hero. The hero’s fighting strength is added.

    • Defense: Weapon bonuses apply to all matching units stationed in the village, no matter who owns them. The hero’s fighting strength does not count in defense. If several heroes defend, the bonus do not stack, only the strongest weapon bonus applies.

  • Shoes of Endurance: Add X % to the army’s base speed for distances >20 fields. This increases the movement speed of the troops by that percentage, it does not directly shorten the travel time by that percentage. The new speed is then multiplied with a possible Tournament Square bonus.
    Example:

    Base speed = 6 fields/hour

    Boots +25% → 7.5 fields/hour

    Tournament Square Level 10 (+100%) → 7.5 × 2 = 15 fields/hour

Equipment tiers

There are three tiers of equipment, unlocked as the gameworld progresses (timing depends on game speed):

  • Tier 1: Day 1 until Day (40 ÷ speed)

  • Tier 2: From the next day until Day (80 ÷ speed)

  • Tier 3: From the next day until the end of the gameworld

Bonus Variants

Equipment bonuses can vary slightly.

  • Example: A helmet with +10 health points may also appear with a variant of –2 or +2.

  • This means the helmet could provide +8, +10, or +12 health points.

  • Only one bonus value appears in the game, not all three.

You can check the possible variant ranges in the detailed item descriptions.

Upgrade Gems

  • Earn upgrade gems by playing the card game.

  • Use them to enhance the effects of certain equipment.

Tip: If your equipment doesn't seem to be working, check if your hero is present in the village and alive. This is the most common reason bonuses appear "inactive."
