Have you noticed these special locations on the Travian Kingdoms map? They are marked with different resource icons. These are oases! |
Oases are spread across the map. Initially, they are wild and inhabited by animals that must be defeated before the oasis can be used. Once occupied, oases provide resource production bonuses to nearby villages, if they are annexed via an embassy.
Players who annex an oasis are ranked based on their influence, which determines the bonuses they receive. Additionally, troops can be stationed in oases to generate extra resources and further strengthen influence.
Hint: You can only see oases after building an embassy. Once revealed, they will remain visible for the rest of the game round—even if you lose all your embassies.
Oasis Types and Bonuses
The resource types an oasis provides bonuses for are determined by the type of wilderness field it is located on. Oases randomly offer a 25% bonus for one resource. Some oases with a 25% resource bonus also provide an additional 25% crop bonus, while others grant a 50% crop bonus. The type of oasis is indicated by resource icons on the map, showing whether it boosts a specific resource, a combination of a resource and crop, or provides a double crop bonus.

Wild Oases
At the start of a game world, and whenever an occupied oasis becomes wild again, animals begin to spawn. Several factors influence the spawn rate, such as the presence of villages in the surrounding 7x7 area. If no villages are nearby, animals spawn much less frequently. Attacks can also impact the spawn rate. The exact number of animals that appear is random.
You can clear an oasis of animals by either defeating them in battle or capturing them with cages. Attacking a wild oasis also allows you to loot a small amount of resources.
Each animal inside an oasis produces one resource per hour and increases the storage capacity of the oasis by 50. For example, a 25% wood + 25% crop oasis that holds 100 animals will generate 100 wood and 100 crop per hour until the storage reaches 5,000 wood and 5,000 crop.
Wild oases do not share reports or show incoming attacks within a kingdom, even if they are located inside its borders. If an oasis is not annexed and contains no stationed troops for more than three hours, it becomes wild again.
Occupied Oases
Once cleared of animals, an oasis that is within range of one of your villages can be assigned to that village through the embassy to provide resource bonuses.
Annexing Oases
An oasis can be annexed from the embassy of a village under the following conditions:
- No animals remain in the oasis.
- The oasis is located within a 7x7 area centered on your village.
- You have an available oasis slot in your embassy.
After annexation, the type of oasis determines which resources receive a production bonus. The percentage of the bonus depends on your influence over the oasis, which is determined by surrounding villages and stationed troops.
Check your embassy for more information about your annexed oases, which oases are within reach, the influcence and your resource bonus.
Resource Bonuses from Troop Production
Troops stationed in an oasis within your kingdom not only defend it but also further increase your resource production bonus. The number of troops that contribute to this boost depends on your influence over the oasis. A maximum of 250 troops can generate additional resources, with lower influence reducing the number of contributing troops.
If an oasis is outside your kingdom, stationed troops do not generate any resources.
Conquering Oases
To conquer an oasis that belongs to another kingdom, the oasis must be adjacent to your kingdom. All stationed troops must be defeated. The oasis will then be occupied by the kingdom that launched the final successful attack.
Embassy Destruction
If an embassy is demolished or destroyed by catapults, all oases annexed through that embassy become unassigned. If the building is only partially destroyed, the number of available oasis slots is reduced accordingly, and annexed oases are unassigned based on the lost slots.
Vacation Mode
When a player activates vacation mode, all oases assigned to their villages automatically become unassigned. Any of the player’s reinforcing troops stationed in oases are sent back to their original villages, even if the oasis was not previously assigned. Oases cannot be reassigned for the duration of vacation mode. Once the player returns from vacation, they can reassign oases in their embassies, provided they still meet the necessary conditions.
Abdication While Owning Oases
If a king abdicates, all oases occupied by their kingdom remain occupied but switch to another kingdom. Each oasis is reassigned to the kingdom with the highest territorial influence, which is determined by treasure villages.
If a duke takes over as the new ruler after abdication, the oasis assignment is recalculated based on the updated kingdom territory. The top five influence rankings must also be updated, as some troops may no longer generate influence or contribute to resource production bonuses.
