Robber camps (New)

Robber camps are cooperative Player versus Enemy (PvE) targets that appear on the world map. They invite kingdom members to coordinate, contribute the right troop strengths, and share rewards based on their participation.

Available from version v.117 on all new game worlds.

Note:

In contrast to Robber Camps, there are also Robber Hideouts. Robber hideouts are personal robber bases that appear near your own villages. You can only clear those alone.

What robber camps are

  • Camps appear on wilderness tiles around Treasuries, not on settlable tiles.
  • A map overlay with smoke and fire signals an upcoming spawn about two hours in advance.
  • Camps do not launch counterattacks.
  • Camps become available in kingdoms that have at least 5 members and a Treasury.

Camp types

Each camp belongs to a robber clan and asks for a specific kind of power. Banners and icons identify the type.

  •  Wolf Clan requires attack strength
  •  Snake Clan requires infantry defense strength
  •  Bear Clan requires cavalry defense strength

Pick the camp that fits the troops you can spare.

Difficulty and scaling

  • Camp difficulty scales with the age of the game world and with the overall strength of your kingdom.
  • Different kingdoms can see different levels at the same time.
  • Difficulty caps ensure camps remain approachable as worlds progress.

How participation works

  1. Watch the map overlay
When smoke appears on a wilderness tile near a Treasury, a spawn is incoming. Use the early warning to pick targets and roles.
  2. Open the rally screen
Each camp has a rally screen that shows the required strength type, the time window, and joined players.
  3. Commit your contribution
    • Send troops that match the required strength type.
    • Your troops gather at the camp for the duration of the window, then return automatically.
    • Troops consume crop from their origin while committed.
    • You can participate in one camp per spawn phase.
  4. Meet the minimum
At least 5 players must contribute for a camp to resolve.
  5. Launch early when organized
When 10 players have joined a camp, kingdom leadership can press Launch to resolve without waiting for the full timer.
  6. Resolution
    • There are no troop losses from these missions.
    • Results determine what portion of the reward pool is unlocked and how it is shared.

Tip: The rally interface shows a more accurate total troop strength for your contribution. Bonuses like your hero and Horns apply to robber camp contributions.

Last Chance mode

If a camp is still active at the end of the regular window, it may enter Last Chance mode for a shorter period. This gives kingdoms another opportunity to clear remaining camps. Difficulty and rewards do not change, but the time window is shorter, so react quickly.

Limits and fairness

  • One camp per spawn phase per player.
  • Contribution caps apply. You must meet a minimum to qualify, and there is a maximum per player to prevent one player from taking a disproportionate share.
  • If too many players pile into the same camp, diminishing returns make individual shares smaller. Spread your forces across multiple camps for better overall results.
  • Information in the interface is limited on purpose to avoid revealing sensitive details about other players’ troop strength.

Rewards

Rewards come from a camp-specific pool that scales with the camp’s difficulty and your kingdom’s strength.

You can receive:

  • Resources
  • Stolen Goods or Treasures

How rewards are shared:

  • Your share is proportional to your contribution compared to other participants.
  • Carry capacity does not limit how much you can receive from the pool.
  • Ties are resolved by who contributed earlier.
  • Rewards count toward the Top 10 Robbers of the Week statistic.

Reports and visibility

After resolution, participants and kingdom royalty receive a summary report. It lists who joined, each contribution share, and the rewards distributed. A regrowth-style map state lets kingdom members revisit the result for a limited time.

Practical tips

  • Match your troops to the camp type. Do not send infantry defense to a cavalry defense camp, and so on.
  • Aim for 10 solid contributors per camp to hit the sweet spot between clearing speed and fair shares.
  • Do not overcrowd one camp. If a camp already has many participants, join a different one.
  • Coordinate launch. Leaders can trigger the mission once 10 have joined, which reduces total troop downtime.
  • Plan around the warning overlay. Use the two hour heads-up to move troops, swap hero gear, and align with allies.
  • Mind crop consumption. Your committed troops still eat at home, so keep the granary filled.

Frequently asked questions

  • Do robber camps attack villages?
No. Camps do not send outgoing attacks.

  • Can I send reinforcements after I joined?
No. You cannot stack more troops on your own contribution once it is committed. You can withdraw before resolution if needed, then re-commit during the window.

  • What if my kingdom is very small?
Camps appear only once there are 5 members and a Treasury, and scaling keeps difficulty in reach. Coordinate to reach the minimum of 5 contributors.

  • Do my troops die in robber camp missions?
No. There are no combat losses. The cost is the time your troops are committed and their crop consumption.
